American Family Insurance announced that it has acquired Networked Insights  to accelerate its digital transformation efforts. American Family, a client and earlier investor in Networked Insights, plans to maintain it as a subsidiary, serving its own clients, in addition to suporting analytics innovation in the new parent company.

Networked Insights  introduced, a marketing tool for identifying, understanding and targeting audiences based on online conversations.

Networked Insights  announced that it has received $30 million in an investment round led by Sands Light Capital and the Cherng Family Trust. The company plans to use the money for continued development in deep learning and artificial intelligence, as well as to support international expansion, new partnerships and acquisitions, and growth in its marketing and sales operations.

According to a report in Crain's Chicago Business, the lead investors are family offices for a co-founder of Arizona Iced Tea and the founders of Panda Express, respectively. Goldman Sachs, American Family Ventures, 4490 Ventures, Kegonsa Seed Fund and additional private investors also participated in the round.

Networked Insights Raises $20 Million

Networked Insights announced that it has raised a $20 million Series B round, led by Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Networked Insights launched SocialSense Categories, a syndicated research service that combines a simplified workspace with content curation and research summaries by NI analysts. Categories are defined around industry verticals and market segments (such as Automotive and Moms), and each includes preconfigured topics to eliminate the initial setup effort.

The simplified work environment is designed to accommodate more senior—and less analytically minded—users than the company's flagship SocialSense platform, but the full environment is available to users who want to go deeper in the data.

Pricing for SocialSense Categories is $500/month for the first category and $350/month for each additional category. NI offers the EcoGreen category as a free trial.
